In Soviet Russia, Rouble Buys YOU!

There’s plenty of souvenir stands near Checkpoint Charlie with the usual Soviet memrobilia. I ended up getting a 1 rouble coin for €3, a 5 rouble coin is €5. What I found odd was that for the first time in history, the rouble actually had some value. I’m sure Vladimir Il’ich would’ve been proud.

In Brazil, it’s two kisses. A third is optional if either of the two are unmarried.
In the Netherlands, it’s three kisses. Occasionally just one will suffice for just hello.
France is also two kisses. One works in the UK.
But no idea what it is in Germany. And since I don’t speak sie Deutch, kind of difficult [...]

Big Mac Index, revisited

Spent a few days in Copenhagen, and I’m now in Berlin. I did some field research, and found out that a Big Mac cost 29 Danish Kroner (DKK), while the meal itself was 50 DKK. The current exchange rate is about 4.75 DKK/USD, which made the burger $6.10, and the meal $10.52. [...]
